APA|DC Welcomes Two New Board Members
APA|DC is pleased to announce that photographers Laura Chase and Eli Meir Kaplan have joined the board.
Laura Chase de Formigny an editorial and commercial photographer who specializes in food and food culture. She has a passion for art and storytelling, traits which clients consistently comment on in her images. Her background is as a photojournalist, having worked at the Raleigh News and Observer, Charlotte Observer, Chattanooga Times Free Press, and Capital Gazette newspapers. She has been a freelancer since 2012 and re-focused her career onto food photography in 2018. Laura Chase is a regular contributor to the Washington Post food section and a frequent collaborator on restaurant reviews as well as a studio photographer for the Washington Post’s recipe section, Voraciously.
Eli Meir Kaplan’s longstanding interest in visual storytelling and meeting people from different backgrounds led him to documentary photography. He draws from that experience to capture genuine, aspirational, and intimate moments in the commercial photography and video production he does today.
Eli lives in Washington, DC with his wife and two daughters and has been told that he's fun to work with.
Eli will be taking on the roll of secretary for the chapter.
