APA | DC: MEMBERS ONLY - Group Trip to Glenstone!

Join APA | DC for our annual members only field trip to Glenstone Saturday, October 19th at 10am. "Glenstone is a place that seamlessly integrates art, architecture, and nature into a serene and contemplative environment."

Space is limited!

Registration is limited and only open to APA Members (plus one guest)! APA Members must register themselves and their guest. Unregistered APA Members and/or guests will be turned away.

Registered guests will meet with APA board members at 10am Saturday, October 19th at the Arrival Hall where we will hand out museum maps and set a time to reconvene at the cafe later in the afternoon. Guests of APA will then walk through the property and exhibitions on a self-guided tour.

Registration will be canceled immediately if non-APA members register for the event. If you are interested in becoming an APA member, please read about our memberships here.

Please Note:

  • Guests of APA are required to secure their own transportation to Glenstone.

  • Tickets are for one-person only and cannot be shared with anyone.

  • You will receive an email from APA with more information as the event date nears.

  • Visitors should be prepared to spend considerable time on foot, and comfortable walking shoes are recommended.

  • Picnicking is not permitted at Glenstone.

  • The sound sculpture, FOREST (for a thousand years…), 2012 by Janet Cardiff and George Bures Miller contains loud passages including sounds of explosions and recordings from historical battle reenactments which may be heard throughout the site.

Glenstone, a museum of modern and contemporary art, is integrated into nearly 300 acres of gently rolling pasture and unspoiled woodland in Montgomery County, Maryland, less than 15 miles from the heart of Washington, DC. Established by the not-for-profit Glenstone Foundation, the museum opened in 2006 and provides a contemplative, intimate setting for experiencing iconic works of art and architecture within a natural environment.
