Join APA | DC on Saturday, April 1st for our annual Photo Assistant Workshop 9:30am - 3:30pm at Yolk Studios. We will walk you through all the types of equipment that you'll encounter on set, from grip to lighting to everything in between! The first half of the day will consist of a detailed and hands-on lesson. The second half of the day you'll put your skills to the test and assist in an actual shoot!

Recommended for anyone who is curious to see what is used on commercial sets, anyone looking to start assisting, or anyone looking to brush up on their skills.

This event has a limited capacity of 30.

Pricing

$10 for APA members - Registration begins Monday, March 6th.

$65 for non members - Registration begins Wednesday, March 8th.

Timeline:

• 9:30am - Arrival for participants (Coffee & pastries provided by APA)

• 10am - 1pm - Hands-on training on how to use grip and lighting equipment.

  • 20 min intro

  • 40 minutes going over grip (Stands, Rigging, Different pieces of equipment)

  • 2 hours going over lighting (Strobes, Packs, Modifiers, etc) .

• 1pm -1:30pm - Lunch (provided by APA)

• 1:30pm - 3:30pm - Mock Shoot. Put your training to use and assist on a mock shoot.

• 3:30pm WRAP
