Stephen Voss creates engaging portraits of some of the most prominent figures of our time. Politicians, journalists, scientists, artists and thinkers, he has spent much of his career documenting those who both make and shape the news.
In this segment of 30 Minutes With... he'll use two portrait assignments–one of former Attorney General Jeff Sessions and the other CDC Director Dr. Robert Redfield–as case studies to talk about the planning and (often) improvising that go into creating compelling images in a high pressure environment. Regardless of the subject matter, we’ll get a glimpse of the many skills and resources that Stephen brings to every project.
Stephen Voss is a political, portrait and documentary photographer based in Washington, D.C. His editorial clients include Time Magazine (multiple covers), CNN, Politico, NPR, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and many others. He has been recognized by the American Photography Annual, Communication Arts Annual, APA, PDN and has images in the permanent collection of the Library of Congress.
